Pakistani Father-Daughter Marriage Video Exposed as Scripted Social Media Fabrication
A viral video alleging that a Pakistani Muslim father married and impregnated his daughter has been exposed as scripted content. Fact-checker Mohammed Zubair traced its origins to a creator's 2025 social media posts.
The video circulated widely across social media platforms, triggering heated online exchanges and allegations surrounding the purported incident. However, fact-checker Mohammed Zubair established that the footage was not genuine and originated from scripted content created by Facebook creator Raj Thakur.
The original videos were posted on Instagram and YouTube in March 2025, where they were labelled as fake. Despite these indications, the footage resurfaced and spread with claims presenting the fictional scenario as a real incident involving a Pakistani Muslim family.
The misleading claims prompted discussions about religious practices and incest. Amid the online debate, some users clarified that incest is forbidden in Islam and constitutes a crime.
In Pakistan, a Muslim man married his own daughter and got her pregnant. He proudly states: “Rather than have my daughter leave the family and live a miserable life somewhere else, I decided to marry her. She is two months pregnant.” Disgusting culture. https://t.co/V6jnQSoNtt

Separately, the controversy has drawn attention to real cases of family-related violence, including the murder of Saman Abbas in Italy in 2021. She was killed by her family for refusing an arranged marriage. The convictions in the case were upheld in 2026.
The exposure of the viral footage highlights how scripted social media content can be recirculated without its original context and presented as genuine incidents, potentially fuelling misinformation and heated public debate. The distinction between fabricated videos and documented cases remains important when assessing claims circulating online.
